Growing up in a small Texas town, taxidermy was never “in” or “out”, it just was.  I wonder how much longer it will remain en vogue?  As for me, it will always be a part of who I am and where I come from.  Oh, and also, it only counts if you killed it yourself, otherwise I believe it is a bit cowardly.
